The 5th China International Photo Contest (CHIPP) is scheduled to be held
from Mar. 21 to 25, 2009 in Songjiang District, Shanghai.
CHIPP, an annual photography contest organized by China Photo Journalism
Society with the theme of ¡°peace and development¡±, has been successfully he
ld in
four consecutive years in Shenzhen and Shanghai. It has now become one of the
world¡¯s most influential press photography contests.
One important change of the upcoming Contest, as pointed out by the 5th CHIPP
organizing committee Chairman Yu Ning, is that the first workshop of the Contest
will be open at the prize award night in May, giving participants opportunities
to interact with prominent photography experts from home and abroad as well as
with the prize-winning photographers.
Songjiang District sits in southwestern Shanghai. A one-time main urban
center for the city, it has a highly interesting culture and architecture scene.
