Many of the China’s fifty-six ethnic minorities have lost their distinct features they used to have and became much like Han nationality, especially in terms of their traditional clothing. Even in western China where many ethnic groups are living, only a few such as the Tibetan, the Yi and the Tajik still preserve their distinctive ethnic costumes, and they make themselves the best specimen for studying the culture of ethnic minorities in China. This photo series documents the disappearing ethnic features of ethnic minorities such as Yi and Tajik in western China.
